Spring 2026: Free Home Lock & Security Check for Huntsville Homeowners

Through spring 2026, book any residential service and get a free lock and door-security check — we'll flag worn cylinders, weak strike plates, and upgrade options.

We are running a spring 2026 promotion across our Huntsville and Northern Alabama service area: book any residential service through June 21, 2026, and we’ll include a free home lock and door-security check while we’re there.

It is the kind of visit we have always done for friends and family — a quick walk through every exterior door, a look at the cylinders and strike plates, and an honest read on what to upgrade now versus what can wait. We are formalizing it this spring so any homeowner who calls us between March 20 and June 21, 2026 gets the same treatment.

What the Check Covers

Across every exterior door on your home:

  • Cylinder condition. Are the pins sticking? Has the key worn down the cuts to the point where it barely turns? Is the cylinder old enough to be a security risk?
  • Strike plate and screws. Most break-ins are kicked-in doors. We check that strike plates use 3-inch screws into the framing — not the 3/4-inch screws builders use by default. See door and jamb reinforcement for why this matters.
  • Latch fit. Misaligned latches make doors hard to close and easier to force. We mark and adjust where we can.
  • Deadbolt grade. Builder-grade Grade 3 deadbolts cover code but not much else. We tell you which doors should move to Grade 1.
  • Smart-lock candidates. If a door is a good fit for a smart deadbolt — for code-based access, audit logs, or convenience — we flag it.
  • Window and secondary entry locks. Patio sliders, back doors, basement walk-outs, and garage entry doors often have weaker hardware than the front. We note what we’d upgrade.

How It Works

Three simple rules:

  1. Book any residential service — lockout, rekey, single-lock install, anything we’d normally come out for.
  2. Tell us you want the security check when you call. It is not automatic, only because we want to make sure we plan the time for it.
  3. Get a written summary at the end, with line items for what we’d upgrade and rough price ranges. No pressure to book the upgrades — we just hand you the list.

The visit takes 20-30 minutes for the check itself, on top of whatever you booked us for.

Why We’re Doing It

We hear from a lot of customers — usually after a break-in scare, a lost key, or a kid heading off to college — who say “I wish I’d done this five years ago.” There’s no reason a basic lock walkthrough should cost anything. We are out at your house anyway.

The other reason: there’s been a noticeable uptick in Northern Alabama break-in attempts on doors with weak strike plates this winter. The doors that fail are almost always the same: builder hardware, short screws, no jamb reinforcement. We can fix all three for very little money — and most homeowners don’t realize how cheap it is until someone shows them.

What Counts as “Booking a Service”

Any of the following qualifies through June 21:

  • A standard residential lockout
  • A rekey (any number of doors)
  • A single deadbolt installation
  • A smart lock install
  • A strike-plate or jamb reinforcement job
  • Broken key extraction
  • Master keying for a home

If you are a new homeowner in Madison, Hampton Cove, or one of the new Harvest subdivisions, our new homeowner security checklist is a good starting point — but the free check is a faster way to find out what is worth doing first.
